Children's Bilingual Story Time - Spanish/English Online

Join us for a fun and engaging virtual bilingual story time! These bilingual story times are developed by ECS 3600 students, guided by Dr. Soon Young Jang, Principal Investigator of the All Children Thrive through Translanguaging (ACTT) project. This project is funded by the Dr. Seuss Foundation, whose values include Education and Literacy, Diversity and Equity, and Community. Through these bilingual story times, we create a space where we all value bilingualism and biliteracy, and support our children’s learning not only in English but also in another language.

Our story times are interactive, educational, and best of all, fun for kids of all ages. Enjoy stories in two languages and hands-on activities with our Early Childhood Studies student storytellers. Bring paper and colored pencils/markers in case you need them for story times!

Information about participating in our story time

Cal Poly Pomona Early Childhood Studies students participate in Library Story Times as part of their assignments for the course. The purpose of this assignment is for students to develop activities that will support young children’s language and literacy development and learning. Students are observed via recorded Zoom lessons by their Cal Poly Pomona professors.

Although the recordings will show everyone in the Zoom windows, the primary focus is on the CPP student's interactions, not on the children and families. All recordings will be kept confidential. By participating in the Zoom Story Time sessions, the parent/guardian understands that their child(ren) will be seen on the Zoom recording.
