Avoiding Plagiarism & Maintaining Academic Integrity Workshop In-Person / Online
Did you know that your use of Chegg, Discord, and/or Chat GPT can result in a violation of the academic integrity policy? Are you aware of what the consequences could be if you are caught cheating or plagiarizing on an assignment? Did you know that some consequences could result in an automatic zero or failure in the class?
The Office of Student Conduct & Integrity and the University Library have teamed up to offer the “Avoiding Plagiarism & Maintaining Academic Integrity Workshop” to students. In this workshop, we will review Cal Poly Pomona’s definition of academic integrity, review some strategies and tips on paraphrasing and citations, and discuss how the misuse of online platforms can lead to an academic integrity violation.
The workshop will be offered this Spring 2024 Semester as follows: Tuesday – February 6th, Thursday – March 21st, and Tuesday - May 7th. The sessions will be offered in a hybrid format this semester and held during U-Hour (12pm). Students will have an opportunity to attend in person on a first-come, first-serve basis. Otherwise, students will have an opportunity to attend the session online via Zoom. We will email registrants with more details after signing up. For any specific questions regarding the workshop, you may email Nicole Mendoza at mendoza@cpp.edu.
