Writing Islands: Space and Identity in the Transnational Cuban Archipelago Online
Employing methods from archipelagic studies to analyze works of contemporary Cuban writers on the island alongside those in exile, Elena Lahr-Vivaz argues that Cuban writers of the 1990s and 2000s approach their nation as part of a larger, transnational network of islands. In her talk, Prof. Lahr-Vivaz will discuss how “literary fieldwork” informs her analysis, and how writers and artists negotiate their identities in their work
