Avoiding Plagiarism Workshop In-Person

The Office of Student Conduct & Integrity has seen a rise of cases involving plagiarism and students cheating on platforms like Chegg and Discord. Are you aware of what the consequences could be if you are caught cheating on an assignment? Did you know that some consequences could result in an automatic zero or failure in the class?

The Office of Student Conduct & Integrity and the University Library have teamed up to offer the “Avoiding Plagiarism & Maintaining Academic Integrity Workshop” to students. In this workshop, we will review Cal Poly Pomona’s definition of academic integrity, review some strategies and tips on paraphrasing and citations, and discuss how the misuse of online platforms can lead to an academic integrity violation.

The workshop will be offered this Spring 2022 Semester as follows: Thursday – February 3rd, Thursday – March 10th, Tuesday – April 12th, and Thursday – May 5th. The sessions will be offered in a hybrid format this semester and held during U-Hour (12pm). Students will have an opportunity to attend in-person on a first-come, first-serve basis. Otherwise, students will have an opportunity to attend the session online via Zoom. We will email registrants with more details after sign-up. For any specific questions regarding the workshop, you may email Nicole Mendoza at mendoza@cpp.edu.
